Kassie currently runs and and co-manages a successful retail business with her husband whilst playing Mum to 3 young children and caring for family members who are disabled. Prior to this, Kassie obtained a Bachelor of Business and worked successfully with Lucas Drilling as a procurement officer. This involved, over seeing major drilling projects, implementing cost effectiveness and delivery of works whilst coordinating dispatch of goods in a timely cost effective manner. Much of what she does currently. In her earlier years, Kassie trained as a Chef and developed a love of food and understanding of the skill and time involved in producing it.
Kassie was invited to The Lantern Project after being a long term carer for her mother. Kassie, has also provided care to other elderly family members and has seen the kitchens and cuisines of multiple aged care facilities. Kassie wishes to provide a voice and insight into how much nutrition can effect multiple aspects of not just an individuals life in these environments but their family members and support networks around them.
Through The Lantern Project Kassie wishes to see an enriched quality of life for the individuals in aged facilities and their families. Alongside the patients carers and multiple staff around them; creating a happier environment for all.
